About Us

Horizon TeamGym are a proud member of British Gymnastics and as their slogan says ‘it is more than just a sport’.

Our own moto takes account of the varied and diverse gymnasts and classes we have. We try to cater for all ranges and requirements, and our expansion has seen us offer new groups, new disciplines and different age ranges.

“Where mind moves matter and imagination becomes creation”

Horizon TeamGym

Horizon TeamGym was formed in 2000 by myself and together with a group of parents we gave gymnasts an opportunity to make lifetime memories with their gymnastic friends, experiencing regional and national competitions, attending European and UK training camps and learning both gymnastic and everyday life skills. We have been to Iceland, Italy and Belgium and are always looking to give our teams a range of experiences in both life and in gymnastics.

We have many of the same coaches and have welcomed new ones along the way (often ex gymnasts) and our outlook and positive attitude is still true today, our whole team are committed to creating a learning environment that is stimulating, safe and secure. We have highly trained coaches and a dedicated welfare team who ensure we are putting safety first. We run everything from recreational, development classes through to squad.  Competitions and displays are our focus for some of our members.  We also hold friendly club championships and fun events to make sure every level is catered for. We have recently introduced a display team and will be launching our new Rhythmic classes in September 2019.

We have always been and continue to be a ‘family gym club’, we pride ourselves on being friendly and approachable. We are here for both the gymnasts and their supporters (parents and guardians) who are involved on this fantastic journey as they embrace their budding gymnasts who are constantly upside down or climbing.

Our class coaches, welfare and admin support are a mixture of paid and volunteer staff, so please be aware some of our staff are giving their free time to help. In return we do ask that both gymnasts and their supporters treat everyone with respect and courtesy and help when necessary (such as getting kit out and putting it away) and by attending or helping with fundraising events. If you feel you can offer us anything towards the club when you are settled in we would love to hear from you – even if it’s just to make cakes!

We can achieve anything we put our minds to, but we must be prepared for hard work together, commitment and sacrifices along the way, the achievements will become a lifetime of cherished memories.

Yours in Sport,

Lisa Souter
